No-Meeting Day

We’ve been thinking about embracing a no-meeting day at Lessonly. The idea is to discourage internal meetings on a specific day of the week so that people have dedicated time to get things done.

We are also thinking about doing a hard reset on all recurring meetings, asking every manager to take an inventory of their team’s recurring meetings and cut the ones that are non-essential. Ideally, during this inventory check, we can help one another be more thoughtful about how we spend our time.

It’s easy to get complacent with a given way of doing things. The hope is that one or both of these ideas will bring renewed energy and focus to our workdays.

But before we try either out, I am wondering, have any of you done something similar? If so, could you let me know what you did and how you’re liking it?

I will keep you posted on what we decide and what I learn from others.

Thank you,
Max
